The Church Design and Renovation Commission (CDRC) assists Archbishop Jackels in his role as steward of Archdiocesan worship spaces. The CDRC advises pastoral leaders on the liturgical design of worship spaces and can assist leaders with liturgical components of building or renovating projects. The basic sourcebooks for their work are The Roman Missal and Built of Living Stones: Art, Architecture, and Worship (The latter is available on-line).
The CDRC members:
- Review parish plans for new construction or renovation of worship spaces.
- Offer insights for plans in light of the liturgical documents of the Catholic Church and guidelines of the Archdiocese of Dubuque.
- Recommend liturgical consultants, architects, and local artists.
- Serve parishes, councils, and boards as a resource for projects.
