Marriage and Family Life

The Marriage and Family Life Office serves as a resource to parishes to help them evangelize and catechize families by forming them as domestic churches and responding to their growing and complex pastoral needs. The office oversees initiatives for education and promotion of the vocation of marriage and family life, including marriage preparation, fertility care and Natural Family Planning, marriage enrichment, and support for marriages and families that are hurting.

The relationships within the family bring an affinity of feelings, affections and interests, arising above all from the members’ respect for one another. The family is a privileged community called to achieve a “sharing of thought and common deliberation by the spouses as well as their eager cooperation as parents in the children’s upbringing.”-  Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 2206
