- Do not attempt to create logo formats other than those illustrated in this style guide. Consistent use of logo standards will ensure the highest level of accuracy and consistency in all applications.
- The black version of the logo should appear on a light background when possible. The white version should be used on dark backgrounds. Heavily illustrated or photographic backgrounds should be avoided if they interrupt the integrity of the logo. Drop shadows should not be used with the logo in any situation.
- An area of free space must be kept around the logo when it is placed near other logos. No other logo may appear any closer than a distance equal to the height of one of the square images. No extra type or objects may be attached to the logo. The cross of the logo should not be removed from the word mark.
- In order to retain the integrity of the Metropolitan cross and the readability of the word marks, it is recommended that the logo never be printed so the cross is less than 1/2” high. The proportions and relative positions of the cross and word mark in the logo should not be altered.
